It’s time to spice up your cider: How to make Singleton whisky cider

This recipe tastes like delicious apple pie. Proceed with caution. You might end up making it every day.

Talk about the best of both worlds. You can make a cider out of whisky by adding sugar, spice and everything nice. Serve it at your next dinner party instead of dessert.

Ingredients:

  • 750mL sparkling apple juice
  • 2 cinnamon sticks, broken in half
  • 3 whole cloves
  • 2 tbs brown sugar
  • 185mL Singleton Spey Cascade Single Malt Whiskey

Method:

Combine the juice, cinnamon sticks sugar and cloves in a medium saucepan. Stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves. Increase heat to high and bring to the boil before covering for 5 minutes to develop the flavours. Stir in the whiskey and strain into a heatproof jug. Discard the cinnamon and cloves and then pour the whisky cider into serving glasses. Add another stick for garnish if you’re feeling fancy.
