Amaretto Sour

Today’s Christmas cocktail is the liquid version of a pavlova. Egg whites and all. Shake this Amaretto sour into stiff peaks and garnish with whatever fruit you have in the fridge.



60mL Amaretto

15mL sugar syrup

30mL lemon juice

1 egg white

Dash of bitters

Cherries (garnish)




  1. Start with a Boston shaker glass and add the egg white and one ice cube.

  2. Shake before pouring in amaretto.

  3. Pour in sugar syrup and lemon juice.

  4. Shake again and pour into an old fashioned glass using a strainer.

  5. Add a dash of bitters.

  6. Garnish with lemon slice and cherry.
