Product Details

This complex Barossa shiraz offers a powerful bouquet of chocolate, liquorice & plum. The palate provides rich dark berry fruit with elegant herb & spice. A full dense texture with ripe tannins, well integrated oak and a complex savoury finish complete this perfectly structured & beautifully balanced wine. Careful cellaring of this wine for the next 10 years will enable further development and additional layers of complexity if you can wait that long.

The St Hugo home is open in the heart of the Barossa Valley, where Hugo Gramp was born in 1895. Here you can enjoy these outstanding collections of wines and dine in the stunning award winning restaurant. Since the first vintage of 1980, every bottle of St Hugo is crafted without compromise. It is a promise of excellence and an homage to love.

8/2/2022Deep purple stains the glass. Plums, anise and cinnamon spice aromas. The palate has firm tannins controlling the dark fruit intensity, hints of choc-mint lift through the middle for interest. Oak is currently showing a little but time will settle that

4/7/2023A deep, weighty, rich wine with dark-berry/plum and earthy/savoury aromas. Full bodied, dense wine with quite firm tannins and solid structure. Worthwhile cellaring a few years.

30/1/2024Saturated colour, inky; plummy, subtly spicy aromas; big, rich, dense, very concentrated wine, with lashings of plush, supple tannins. Spot-on ripeness. Big but balanced. Wow, this is impressive. (Trophy, best shiraz/syrah, 2023 Global Fine Wine Challenge)
