Product Details

Inspired by the Grand Crus red wines of Burgundy. This wine exhibits an intense Pinosity with unfurling power, charm and complexity from a classically cool and extended vintage. As a medium-bodied yet bold Pinot Noir it leads with beguiling aromas of black cherry, raspberry, rhubarb, sarsparilla, kirsch and dark chocolate supported by savoury characters of porcini broth, nutmeg, graphite and underlying stalk-derived herbal notes.

Our Colleen’s Paddock Pinot Noir blend (from our three clonal plantings) exhibits an intense Pinosity with unfurling power, complexity and maturity from an excellent Yarra Valley vintage. The combination of clones combine the boldness, weight, savouriness and muscularity of the predominant MV6 proportion with the mid-palate focus and structure of D2V6 and the fruit-forward purity and finesse of 777. The medium-depth colour belies its innate concentration and power.

13/12/2022Fragrant, lifted aromas of cherry, sap, spice, bramble, cooked strawberry and sandalwood, really evocative and enticing. Delicately flavoured, supple and mouth-filling, full of dark cherry, blueberry, spice and a umami-ish soy character. Tannins are round and caressing and the acidity is taut and crunchy. Lovely length, texture and drinkability.

8/7/2025Medium-light colour, brick-red in hue. Earthy, smoky, and forest underbrush and mushroom stock tertiary developed aromas. Light and lean and lacking concentration as well as extract. Fades quickly to a short, drying finish. Drink up. Postscript: in a practical drinking situation with a mushroom risotto, this was actually quite delicious and was in a more appropriate context. An eccentric style which compares unfavourably with its fellow Yarra pinots of the prevailing styles, but as a drink, it's very enjoyable.
