Sourced from the Dookie hills and revelling in the scents of the Aussie bush: eucalypt, acacia and sweet berries. Hard to beat on flavour for the price. It's packed tight with black fruits, an enduring pungent thread of black licorice strap, pepper and spice and it's all slurped up by the cedary toast of American oak.
Our Shiraz is sourced from the rich volcanic soils of the Dookie area in central Victoria. Cool nights and warm days allow Shiraz to fully develop its flavour profile. A bold, full red ideal for everyday enjoyment. The grapes are harvested at full ripeness, crushed and fermented in 2 tonne fermenters with hand plunging. Following ferment the wine spends up to 12 months in French and American oak.
Enjoy now with a bowl of slow cooked Italian beef stew, flavoured with rosemary, sage and pancetta, and served with a side of creamy polenta; or a tomato and eggplant ciambotta.
18/8/2020Deep red colour with a tinge of purple as well as black. The bouquet has some machine-oil notes as well as prune and black olive hints of overripeness. It's a little flat in the mouth, lacking energy and freshness.
*Wine Rank: #204 of 215 - 2018 Shiraz from Victoria
