Product Details

This wine forms part of Seppelt’s prized Drumborg Vineyard Range, sourced from the mature, cool-climate Seppelt Drumborg Vineyard in South-West Victoria’s Henty Region. Planted in 1964 by Karl Seppelt and swept by icy Winds from the Southern Ocean, it is one of the Southern-most vineyards of mainland Australia.

The 2019 displays a perfumed nose has aromas of lime and white flowers with a touch of aniseed. The palate shows an innate purity with concentrated lime fruit and lemon sorbet supported with textural elements and a backbone of fine, chalky acid producing a powerful wine with balance and length.

‘Seppelt came close to abandoning this vineyard in Henty 30 or so years ago due to variability of the crop, a problem no more. The perfumed fragrance is wonderful, at once light and intense. Citrus and apple blossom notes are quite special and illuminate the very long palate and aftertaste.’ – 98 Points | James Halliday.

7/4/2020Fresh lemon juice with flint smoke. Tight mineral purity with hints of lemon zest splash. Serious drive to the end. Epic focus. Good drive and tightly-wound. Ample time to unfurl

10/10/2025Quite gassy in the glass and pale coloured. Crisp fresh garden herb aromas, a basket of herbs including coriander, parsley, mint and basil. In the mouth it's refined and delicate yet very intense, with tight focus, the palate long and harmonious with barely any sweetness evident and a clean, refreshing finish that invites another sip. Excellent riesling, which will build complexity and enjoy a bright future.
