Product Details

The flagship wine in the Seppelt portfolio, St Peters is sourced from the finest and most intense fruit grown on our Great Western.

Seppelt's 2016 St. Peters Shiraz is a vibrant deep red with crimson hues. A complex, perfumed nose of blackberry fruit, spice and floral notes with toasty oak in the background. The medium-bodied palate displays concentrated black fruits with spicy nutmeg and star anise characters supported by fine, velvety tannins and cedary oak. Subtle graphite and mineral textures combine with the fruit resulting in a complex and refined finish.

22/5/2018Deep red/purple colour; blood plum aromas with a veneer of charred oak. It's a big wine with lots of oak in the aroma and flavour, all finishing off with robust tannins. This needs more time for the grip to soften and the oaky flavours to further mellow into the wine. It will be very good in time. Later: very powerful, concentrated, majestic wine with strong ironstone/mineral and pepper/spice aromas and flavours. Great structure and power. A stunning wine which will blossom with time in the cellar.

3/4/2019A complex and alluring aroma of ripe plum, dried muscatel, savoury pastry, leather and spice. The palate is beautifully intense and long with ripe plum and dark chocolate flavours. It is rich and supple, with impressive depth. Lovely now, though will age gracefully

26/8/2025Deep purple-red colour with a waft of smoky, charry oak together with dark fruit cake, black pepper, stony/broken rock touches and the palate is very savoury with powdery tannins and fleshy extract on a full-bodied frame. The tannins are ripely supple and smooth, coating the entire palate with a textural sheen. Finishes with a twinge of acidity. Very good now and will surely build great complexity with time.
