Product Details

The Portrait wines embody the original promise Peter Lehmann made to the growers to make wines that show the true character of the Barossa. Collectively, these wines present a portrait of the region through a selection of the traditional varietals that made it famous.

With decent rainfall falling at the right time throughout 2020, bumper crops appeared likely for Barossa Grenache after three consecutive dry & low yielding years. However, windy conditions at flowering impacted fruit set and resulted in reduced crops in some of the more exposed vineyards. The weather then remained mild right throughout the rest of the growing season and harvest period, producing Grenache of outstanding quality.

23/11/2021Really pale-pink in the glass, onion-skin in colour. Lifted aromas of raspberry, herbs, strawberry and musksticks. Soft and round on the palate, plenty of strawberry and cherry, nice weight, grip and texture. Great value!

31/3/2022Very pale rose-petal-pink colour in the glass. Raspberry, musk and golden pear aromas. Soft and plush on entry, the palate shows strawberry confit and sweet pastry notes. Flows long, but it’s only a honeyed sweetness that lingers

1/11/2024Very pale salmon to rose gold colour. Strawberry and cream aromas. Fruit sits bright and fresh on the tongue, mirroring the nose in its flavour profile. The palate has a pleasing creaminess to its texture through the middle and finishes well, if just a little richer than needed at the end

*Wine Rank: #8 of 25 - 2024 Rosés from Barossa
