Product Details

The actual date of the first Bin 0 Shiraz is lost in the annals of time. But what is certain is the descriptor ‘Bin 0’ on the wine label has been in use for over 100 years. Best’s Bin 0 Shiraz is produced from the four original Shiraz plantings in the low yielding blocks of the historic Concongella vineyard at Great Western. This includes 19th Century and mid-20th Century plantings of Shiraz, which result in very low yielding vines that produce intense flavours. The fruit is hand selected, sorted and fermented in small batches and matured in the finest barrels in the underground cellar.

18/1/2022Deep red/purple colour, with aromas of mixed spices with pepper and clove uppermost, dark chocolate too, some sweet eucalypt-forest touches and deeply-buried dark plum and blackberry. Brown spices galore. It's rich and concentrated in the mouth, not a blockbuster but cetrainly very full-bodied, yet balanced and supple in its mouth-feel. Oak makes a subtle contribution. A long finish and very ageworthy.

17/6/2024Dark, deep red and inky in the glass. Heady aromas of blue fruits, satsuma plum, Asian spice, cola, dried herbs, licorice and white pepper. Fleshy, mouth-filling and layered in flavour. Blueberry, plum, sarsaparilla, clove and a bunchy, earthy edge are all at play. There’s a lovely softness and suppleness to the palate and the tannins and acidity deliver shape and cut
