Lifted aromas of blackberry, blueberry and black pepper supported by spicy dark berry fruits on the palate. The finish is long and framed by elegant, fine grained tannins from eighteen months maturation in new and seasoned oak. Sweetly fruited and perfumed, the wine shows Black Doris plum, raspberry, vanilla, toasted spice and roasted nut characters on the nose, leading to a succulent palate that’s mouth filling and delicious. It’s fleshy and generous with excellent fruit power, finishing persistent and textured. Very balanced and drinking beautifully.
This wine originates from the deep sandy loam soils of the Château Tanunda Vine Vale vineyard, famous for some of the most elegant and fine-structured expressions of Barossa Shiraz. The grapes are destemmed but not crushed and fermented for seven days in open fermenters with regular plunging and remontage.
1/4/2025Bright plum red in the glass. Aromas of dark cherry, mulberry, brambly blackberry, wet earth, spice and dried herbs. Juicy, plush and dark fruit driven. There's real generosity and power in the fruit, all woven together nicely with sweet, nutty oak, chewy tannins and some perky acidity. Smart drinking
*Wine Rank: #63 of 111 - 2023 Shiraz from Barossa Valley
