Product Details

If you’re looking for something a little different to impress your guests next dinner party this unusual sparkling red varietal is sure to do just that. While it displays generous red fruit flavours & spice, it is a lighter style red which serves well slightly chilled. It’s simply perfect for the Australian summer.

The mousse is vibrant purple and persistent, the bead lively, a glass full of fun. The nose is a swirl of spiced plums, dark jubes, cherries and ripe red berries dusted with sweet spice for lift. It’s a heady mix, drawing you back for another whiff of winter berries and layers of licorice and earth.

The palate is full and fresh, spicy with a creamy mouthfeel and there is just enough tannin to keep it all in check. The acidity is mineral-laced and linear providing a back-bone of freshness.

The finish is long, clean, and taught. This wine is ready for drinking now and it will also reward extended bottle aging. It works a treat with friends up for a bit of fun or accompanying food with a twist like a red duck curry.

11/2/2013Dense, impenetrable purple colour, typical of this grape variety. Rather smelly bouquet, very reductive and raw, also shrilly fruit-driven. Has a meaty character that is not very attractive. And it's the same in the mouth. It's never been a wine that appeals to me.

30/9/2025Bright red and lively in the glass. Dusty earth aromas, along with blackberry, fruit pastille, sweet spice and stewed plum. Sweet and dark fruited on entry, fizzy, spicy and with a decent lick of acidity tightening it up on the finish
