A true legend of his native German homeland, not to mention the world of fine wine, Ernst Loosen is capable of extraordinary things when it comes to the noble Riesling grape. 

Dr. Loosen has been in the same family for over 200 years, and this is the estate's classic, regional expression of the Riesling grape. Located in far western Germany, the Mosel valley’s steep, southfacing slopes create the perfect climate for Riesling, giving the vines ideal exposure to the sun. The cool climate allows the grapes to ripen slowly while retaining bright acidity.

The esteemed Bernkasteler Lay vineyard, located literally a stone's throw from the Mosel River, has a reputation for producing opulent wines, full of texture and unprecedented character. As per the norm, exquisite acidity rounds out gentle sweetness on a palate glistening with delicate floral, apple, citrus and gentle stone fruit characters.
