Flametree is one of the great stories of the Margaret River region of recent times, experiencing extraordinary success since its first vintage in 2007, which included the coveted Jimmy Watson trophy in that very vintage. With Cliff Royal at the helm as chief winemaker and state of the art facilities, Flametree is a name worth keeping an eye on. Medium-weighted and wonderfully fragrant with liquorice, warm spice and prosciutto alongside plush, ripe fruit, although it's not mawkish as there's balanced acidity with tangy plum and cherry notes.
27/7/2021Deep ruby-red core into a bright purple-tinged rim. Red berry and lavender leaf aromas. The palate shows more savoury layers than the nose would suggest, hints of iodine and wakame along with red berries and woody spice. Good length and fine tannins but fades a touch to the finish. Still, a good medium-weight shiraz

3/6/2025A youthful and bright red in the glass. Vibrant aromas of blueberry, dark cherry, spice, dried herbs, earth, mulch and bramble. Mouth-filing, bright and fleshy on the palate. Plum, blackberry and a briary, minty edge are all doing their thing. Long, textured, crunchy and snappy in flavour
