Those with a weak spot for good dry rose should make a beeline for the latest pink instalment from La Boheme. Restrained, savoury and dry; smells of red currant, quince paste, dried apple and spice set the pace for subdued fruit, nice acid, and a tidy drying finish.
Leanne and Steve Webber of De Bortoli Wines in the Yarra Valley are champions of rosé. So much so, they started a revolution - the Rosé Revolution – to encourage the relishing, making and consumption of pale. dry and textural rosé. This all started, as it often does. with the inspiration derived from a bottle of French rosé while holidaying in Provence. This wine, the De Bortoli La Bohème Act Two, keeps their dream alive. Made from 90 percent Pinot Noir with a splash of a few other varieties, it offers a gentle puff of strawberry, rosehip and a red summer berry aromas.
17/1/2023Very light salmon pink to onion-skin appearance; nutty, savoury bouquet with indications of barrel work; the palate intense and firm and very dry throughout. There is more richness and depth here than most rosés. A full and lingering finish that satisfies.

18/10/2022A light salmon pink hue. Red cherry fruit lifts from the glass and shows across the palate; there's a moment of amaro herbs underneath which adds character. Acidity has good carry and balances a plushness in the mid palate, all flowing quite long and finishing crisp and refreshing

20/1/2026Pale onion skin in the glass. Lifted aromas of dried flowers, cherry, stone fruit and jasmine. Soft, round and mouth-filling, with a drive of red fruits, shapely acidity and a nice lick of grip. Long and textured
