Product Details

Hand-picked across four blocks (three MV6, one D2V5) over 11 days. All fruit was hand-sorted and either destemmed or crushed into small open vats. Stalks were added back to select parcels to enhance complexity. Fermentation utilised a combination of natural and inoculated yeasts. Cuvaison ranged from one to three weeks on skins. Parcels were either handplunged or pumped over a maximum of once per day, ensuring gentle extraction and refined tannin integration. This wine is an assemblage of ten individual small batches sourced from our Maroondah Highway vineyard, resulting in a Pinot Noir of fine line and gradually building power, with a savoury-driven palate.

30/3/2021Light russet-red colour with the faintest glimmer of purple. The aromas are elusive and savoury, lacking pinosity, primary fruit and freshness. The palate is light-bodied and lightly-structured, the flavours of moderate intensity are building some interest by way of development. The finish is soft and tapers off fairly rapidly. It would be a pleasant wine at a more reasonable price.

30/12/2025Light cherry red hue. Red cherry, capocollo and dried thyme aromatics. Medium bodied with dark cherry fruit at the base. A savoury style, with black tea, cured pork and thyme notes appearing at different stages. Tannins are supple yet sufficiently weighted to ensure precision and a very long finish
