2/10/2024Very bright, intense purple-red colour, with a superbly fresh, vibrant aroma combining raspberry, vanilla, red cherry and violets. It's all about the fruit at this juncture. The wine is bold and bright again in the mouth, light to medium weighted, but with real intensity, drive and elegance. There's a faint sappiness in the tannins at the end of the finish and it's yet to build much complexity, but it's a very good pinot which appears to have a bright future. (Grapes from the historic Lowestoft vineyard in the Lower Derwent)
*Wine Rank: #32 of 88 - 2022 Pinot Noir from Tasmania
