Product Details

If you enjoy Veuve Clicquot champagne and are looking for a deeper understanding of just what sets it apart from any other, this excellent vintage is a good place to start. With a rare aromatic richness and complexity that's the result of prolonged time spent on lees and partial ageing in oak casks, it's the Maison's 67th vintage since 1810 – the year Madame Clicquot created the first vintage champagne.
Presented in a beautiful gift box (crafted from 50% hemp and 50% recycled paper) with a brown wood pattern that's a nod to the oak casks the champagne has been partially aged in, it has an immense ageing potential of more than 15 years – making it a great gift, too.

Huon Hooke
10/9/2016Smoky toasty aroma, dry and savoury. There's a slightly burnt toast off-note. The palate also dry and borderline austere, with intensity and focus. Firm, cleansing finish and long aftertaste. A tight, dry, almost austere wine, and very good. Long, long finish. The palate is much better than the nose. (a cork issue?)

15/8/2017Light to mid-straw colour with a strong toasty bready bouquet revealing lots of pinot and lees-development. The palate is fresh and nervy with appley acidity and clean lines, but not the richness the nose promises. A pleasant, even good, wine without being stellar. The aftertaste is dry, assisted by phenolics. The price is not warranted
