Product Details

The Maxwell Silver Hammer Shiraz delivers all the hallmarks that make the combination of this variety and the McLaren Vale region so famous. The bouquet is abundant with plum, blackberry and red cherries, coupled with hints of mocha and vanilla. The palate has an abundance of generous flavours, a rich mouthfeel with plum, vanilla, and complex savoury spices. The mouth filling flavours are well balanced, full bodied with a soft finish. The result is a generous and approachable wine with excellent depth of flavour, fine silky tannins, and fruit length.

29/10/2019Dark chocolate, coffee beans and ripe plums. First sip releases a ripe burst of sweet plum fruit. Oak is subdued and frames the fruit. A wine built for early enjoyment. Well-made and beautfully balanced.

2/6/2020Deeply-coloured, it has dark mocha and vanillin aromas harmoniously folded through with plum, boysenberry, spice and regional earthiness. It tastes smooth, intense and succulent with ripe tannins in good balance. A friendly regional shiraz with a very reasonable price tag.

19/7/2023Youthful and bright in appearance. Plenty of plum, blackberry, cedar and dried herb action on the nose; there's some floral lift in there as well. Sweet, fleshy and dark fruit-driven on the palate. Really generously flavoured, fleshy and mouth-filling. Tannins are firm and the acidity has crunch and provides some freshness and cut
