Product Details

Plantagenet is the Great Southern region's oldest established winery with vineyards first planted in 1968 at Mt Barker. A finely structured wine with blackberry, cassis, olive, and tobacco leaf characters interwoven with supple, toasty oak tannins. Densely packed but graceful with a firm lingering finish built for a long aging potential.

Huon Hooke
25/3/2020Deep red/purple colour, with an intense bouquet of typical cabernet leafy, earthy, oliveaceous aromas, and a bit of tomato bush. The wine is a trifle raw and callow, almost cabernet essence, the tannins edgy and the flavours a bit unresolved. It needs time and has the makings of a fine bottle.

*Wine Rank: #14 of 33 - 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon from Great Southern
