31/3/2020Very deep, dense, dark and glass-staining colour. The bouquet reveals massive oak treatment, with graphite, dark chocolate and ironstone aromas laced by the toasty vanilla notes of heavy-char oak. The wine is very full-bodied and tannic, the oak very assertive and the texture as rough as coarse sandpaper. It needs quite a few years yet. It's syrupy and charmless at the present. Decanting and aeration are crucial.
*Wine Rank: #133 of 180 - 2016 Shiraz from Barossa Valley
