The Linder family established St Hallett Winery in 1944. For over 70 years they have built a reputation as specialists in Barossa Shiraz. The team at St Hallett, headed up by Stuart Blackwell and Toby Barlow, have done a fantastic job with this shiraz, choosing the best grapes from the vineyards to reate a wine that is lush with great depth of flavour.
This wine has a vibrant nose of red and black fruits with integrated oak bringing dark chocolate and vanilla spice. the palate is rich with blackberry, raspberry and toasted coconut tied together by soft, coating tannins bringing a lingering palate.
1/8/2018Deep red/purple colour with a spicy, peppery, graphite-like aroma, while the palate is medium to full-bodied and spicy, earthy, with regional shiraz complexities and savouriness. The palate is savoury and firm and has a good solid backbone but also delicious varietal shiraz flavour, good length and the potential to take some age gracefully. A real bargain. (Vintage Cellars best shiraz award)
*Wine Rank: #95 of 180 - 2016 Shiraz from Barossa Valley
