Product Details

St Leonards Hip Sip Muscat 375mL is available in a single bottle. This rich amber coloured wine has aromas of raisins, candied peel and spice with notes of sweet butterscotch. The palate is intense, showing the benefit of time in barrel with concentrated fruit and lovely balanced sweetness. Hip Sip does its ageing in the old oak barrels prior to bottling and will not age further in the bottle. Once opened it should be consumed in about a month. Get your St Leonards Hip Sip Muscat today!

12/7/2017Medium to deep tawny-brown colour with a yellow rim. The bouquet is raisin, vanilla, malt with some muscat traces but not especially fresh or bright. There is some age here and the palate is moderately rich and intense, with some drying grip from tannin and spirit. The wine is not 100% seamless. There is plenty of muscat character and some age: its a good window into the classic style at an affordable price.

Huon Hooke
8/1/2019(350ml) Deep tawny colour, with a slightly earthy, toasty, savoury bouquet, which has a little staleness as well as some aged character. The palate opens with liberal sweetness and has some attractive depth and richness, although the sweetness is quite high for the intensity of its flavour. A trace of fish-oil character. A pleasant fortified with some aged character, if not all that muscaty and varietal. It's good value for money.

Huon Hooke
29/9/2020Medium to light tawny colour, with a smoky oak, toasted nut, old leather lounge-chair bouquet. The palate is fully sweet and grapy, with a lightness and lacking the viscosity and great length of an older wine. It has clearly defined muscat fruit character and a lot of charm. A straightforward young muscat, which is loaded with appeal.
