Product Details

This Barossa beauty is one for a special occasion. The dark, brooding regional characters of plum, red cherry and liquorice are all to the fore of this wine. The palate is focused and linear, with dark chocolate notes and an elegant long finish. Powerfully intense aniseed, blackberry, mulberry and blueberry fruit aromas, with ginger, mint notes. Vigorous and fleshy with generous blueberry, blackberry flavours, excellent mid-palate richness and plentiful brambly-chocolatey tannins. Limited stock.

‘This is immediately enticing on the nose with black/purple fruit richness with tapenade, dark chocolate, cake spice and cracked pepper notes, followed by a powerful full-bodied palate delivering layers of delicious flavours backed by refined tannins, finishing super long and satisfying. At its best: 2024 to 2038.’- Sam Kim.

Huon Hooke
18/5/2021Deep purple colour. Reserved aromas of dark chocolate and earthy, graphite overtones. The wine is powerful, full-bodied and muscular, with a fruit-sweet core and ample tannins on the finish, which are pleasantly supple and smooth, albeit asssertive. Very good now and certain to cellar well.

Huon Hooke
16/1/2026Deep garnet colour; rich chocolate, blood plum and Christmas cake aromas, the palate full bodied and rich with density and fleshy extract, the tannins supple and ample, hints of toffee and caramel, but earthy/terracotta, fruitcake and dark plum/licorice favours predominate. Very smart wine in the fuller bodied, warm-grown style.

*Wine Rank: #36 of 111 - 2023 Shiraz from Barossa Valley
