Product Details

This cuvée Champagne Rose unveils a subtle aroma leading to an elegant, delicate bouquet of fine notes of red fruits and zest of citrus fruits. Its special method of vinification gives this cuvée a light, elegant flavour, followed by a fresh finish with a slight taste of raspberry.

They espouse three principal aims are finesse, balance and elegance and the Brut rose is testament to this. Pale salmon pink in colour, the nose shows lifted red fruits and fresh pear. The Pinot has given structure to the blend while the Chardonnay has given a wonderful elegance and delicacy. A blend of 40% chardonnay, 20% Pinot Meunier, and 40% Pinot Noir. Of the Pinot component 8% is still wine from the family vineyards in Mareuil.

Founded in 1818 by Nicolas Francois Billecart and his spouse Elizabeth Salmon in Mareuil-sur-Ay, this is one of the few houses that have remained in the same family. Seven generations on, the house is led by the very talented Francois Roland-Billecart.

14/7/2012Very pale, gentle rose colour; tending to smoked salmon - far from a shrill purple/pink hue. Soft, mellow, nutty and straw-like bouquet, palate also soft and round, easy-going and smooth. Soft, svelte and superbly harmonious. Again: a superbly clean, harmonious finish and aftertaste. Excellent rose.

7/10/2014Pale smoked-salmon pink colour. The bouquet is classic rose with smoky strawberry notes, the palate delicate and light-bodied, perhaps a little too wispy and lacking a little in impact. The finish is a trifle short. The flavours and aromas are very attractive and clean. A reserved and delicate rose, of which one can drink many glasses.

10/1/2017This bottle has been in someone's cellar for several years, so reviewing it is probably a little pointless, but it does show that this wine can take a few years of aging very nicely. Mellow, stylish, savoury, bone-dry and tasty. A very good semi-mature bottle of pink Champagne.

13/8/2019Light, coppery-pink hue. Attractive mellowness on the bouquet: toast and sousbois, a little celery and pleasant enough. The liqueur shows on the palate, which is on the light side. A relatively plain, youthful, rather commercial style of rosé.

16/8/2022Perfectly pure, brilliant salmon-pink colour; the bouquet beautifully harmonious with freshness and character: dried flower petals, echoes of dried red fruits, and just a hint of lightly browned toast. The wine is soft and almost fluffy on the palate, silken smooth, a lovely glass of rosé, its controlled sweetness leaving a dry finish. Great drinkability.

2/10/2018A blend of pinot noir, chardonnay and pinot meunier from three different years, Medium, orange tint. Dry, moderately weighty wine with bready, brioche and biscuit characters supported by firm acidity. Quite austere - good food wine.

2/7/2024Pale copper in colour with attractively fresh berry aromas, the sumptuous ripe strawberry fruit quality derives from a blend of 45% chardonnay, 35% pinot noir and 20% meunier with a dosage of 4.7 grams per litre and the addition of 7-8% red wine. The fruit lingers as the textured strawberries-and-cream mousse dissolves on the tongue, dissipating towards a long, tangy, dry and above all satisfying finish. Disgorged last year. Code: 201253
