Filsell has long been regarded as one of the region’s most Iconic Barossa Shiraz. Today, this wine continues to herald the legacy. An incredible depth of colour gives some indication as to the vibrant aromas which arise from the glass, which has lifted notes of ripe raspberries, sweet spices and choc-mint layered subtly with aniseed and freshly baked bread. The palate is seamlessly integrated tannins & rounded acidity.
3/8/2021Very deep, dark, saturated red/purple with blackish depths which stain the glass. The bouquet is broodingly deep and mysterious, smoky-char and earth-bound characters, and black fruits galore, black olive and tapenade too. The palate has great depth and texture, the tannins fleshy and coating, but balanced. It has a big future if cellared. An outstanding value shiraz, very Barossa and very shiraz.

Huon Hooke
10/6/2025Saturated purple-red colour; it smells of blackberry—and tannin. A big, brawny wine with lashings of mouth-coating tannins and bold albeit fairly straightforward flavour. A lasting, chewy grip on the finish. A solid shiraz that would take some ageing well.
