Intense lifted and unfurling aromas of lemon curd, red apple, elderflower, sage leaf and caraway seed with savoury elements of wet stones and struck match. This ‘amplified’ counterpoint to our single-vineyard Estate Chardonnay balances an integrated line of natural acidity with ample varietal expression showcasing quince, honeysuckle and saline characters. The understated persistent flavours marry with subtle oak, integrated phenolic grip, buttered creaminess and a biscuity texture through the long finish.
Our Katherine’s Paddock Chardonnay blend (from our three clonal plantings) combines the richness, drive and classicism of our north-east facing P58 clone with the fruit-forward fruitiness of east-facing Mendoza and the fine-boned flinty structure with chalky notes of the south-east facing block of Bernard 95 clone. From a high on perfect Yarra Valley vintage, this wine plants a flag for a stylistic reclamation of Chardonnay where body, flavour and palate weight can co-exist with structure, texture and restrained acidity.

27/8/2022Light to mid-yellow colour, bright and youthful for its years, the bouquet reserved and savoury, again youthful with wheaty biscuit, stone-fruit and smoky reductive aromas, the palate refined and focused, with tremendous intensity and depth of palate flavour. Tightly composed, understated and long.

7/7/2025This has lovely brightness and youthfulness in the glass. Complex and lifted aromas of stone-fruit, nougat, wheat puff, white flowers, cooked citrus, oyster brine and grilled nuts. Layered, long, textured and mouth-filling. There's real drive and purity, with nectarine, melon, creamy, nutty oak and pithy acidity all at play. Long, sophisticated and ageing beautifully
